Trachycarpus Naini Tal (Naini Tal)

Plant Description
Trachycarpus Naini Tal is a robust and very cold hardy palm. It will grow similar to its popular close relative Trachycarpus fortunei.

Genetically it is similar to T. fortunei, but T. Naini Tal will grow taller and more vigorous with larger fronds and a thicker trunk. It’s fibres are thinner and shed readily, leaving a naturally bare trunk lending an interesting and exotic appearance.

Suitability
It may be planted either in sunny or shady area with reasonable good drainage. It may be planted outside in the ground or container and cold hardy especially as it matures.

Our UK grown plants have already experienced British winter temperatures and are sold with complete root systems having always been grown in containers.

Origin
From a town in Northern India called Naini Tal where it grows at altitudes of 2,400m.
