Trithrinax Campestris (Blue Needle palm)

Suitability & Plant description

Plant Description
This palm will withstand severe cold and high winds. It is fiercely armed with spines on its leaf tips. It has a tight crown of stiff, silvery palmate leaves. The trunk which usually grows into a clump or rarely a single trunk, is spiny and is covered with fibre.

Not widely spread due to its very slow growth but its resistance to diverse growing conditions and climates make it an interesting and unusual palm for Great Britain.
