Brahea Edulis (Guadaloupe Palm)

Plant description

Plant Description
Brahea edulis is known for its large, spectacular, shiny fan shaped leaves and edible fruit.

It is faster growing than its blue relative, Brahea armata and is quite easy to grow.

Brahea edulis is best grown in coastal gardens where it will withstand salt spray and enjoy milder winter temperatures.

This beautiful palm can be grown easily in a container and is excellent for a conservatory, covered swimming pool or sun room.

This species is found growing on the steep, rocky slopes of Guadalupe Island, Mexico where now it is an endangered species due to local goats eating the seedlings.
