Plant Description
Trachycarpus princeps is a beautiful, slow growing and still rare palm. The name Princeps is indicative of the nature of this palm as the “Prince of Palms”.
It is a fascinating palm being similarly hardy to other Trachycarpus but with a bluish leaves as Brahea/Erythea armata.
It is a single trunk tree with distinctively brown fibre. The leaf is split around half way, the palm is very resistant to severe cold, probably being equally as cold hardy as Trachycarpus fortunei and Trachycarpus wagnerianus
Suitability
It may be planted in full sun to part shade in the ground or container.
